New Year, New Me

2020 has finally come and gone and with it, I decided it was time to be out with the old and in with the new. I've been doing a lot of thinking about my own branding lately and how exactly I'm trying to represent myself as a professional to not only potential employers but also myself and the general public.

I've been using a coyote motif in the gaming community for years and I've finally decided to officially adopt it across the board. Coyotes have a lot of meaning for me personally and are often reflecting in my fine art, so it just seemed like a natural step to go from my old "hook" logo to a coyote one.

The "Hook" was done my senior year of college back in 2012 and I was pretty proud of it at the time. I was trying to become a video editor and I thought tying in how stories needed hooks with the J of my first name was clever as h*ck.

But it's 2021 now and I've grown a lot since I was a college graduate. I've had clients near and far and worked off the clock volunteering in places that would help me grow my interests and skillsets off the keyboard. I've also taken time to delve more into the game community - doing fundraisers for ExtraLife and looking into beginning a Let's Play/Game review channel with the support of some of the best gamers I've ever known.

Life's a crazy ride to be on, but we might as well walk together if we're going in the same direction. Here are the two versions of my new coyote logo. I also have all black and all white variants.

And here's my old Hook logo for the giggles and reminder of how we all evolve:
